Michael Edward Sullivan Jr was surrounded by his dearest loved ones as he went to be with the Lord on October 25, 2025.
He is survived by his three children, Sean (and daughter in law, Jenny), MaryKate, also his devoted caregiver, and Shannon (and son in law Bo Nixon). He was a proud grandfather to his granddaughters, Rylan and Rory Nixon. He is also survived by his former wife Deborah Sullivan and siblings, Megan, Dan, Pat and Amy. In addition, he is also survived by his beloved German Shepherd, Axel.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Rosemary Sullivan, and his bonus grandchild Jaeda Riner.
Michael was born in Darby, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Neumann University and earned his MBA from Frostburg State University. He dedicated more than 35 years to the pharmaceutical industry, most recently serving as President of a local pharmaceutical company before retiring. Michael poured his heart into his work and employees. He took pride in his accomplishments and of those around him. Michael was a strong leader and an intentional friend who left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Michael was known for being a University of Virginia sports fan and sporting Virginia gear whenever he wasn’t in a suit. He enjoyed family time at the beach throughout his life and would never ever turn down a nice cold Coca Cola. In his younger years he was known as “Coach Sully” in Brookhaven Pennsylvania where he happily coached little league football. After every win “Coach Sully” was sure to throw a pizza party to celebrate.
In his final days, Michael embodied what it means to truly be present with those you love as he embraced every second to bring joy to those around him. He was selfless, fearless and wholehearted in every moment shared. Above all, he will be remembered for his charming humor, resiliency and steadfast devotion to those he loved. Michael is forever in our hearts.
