Michael was born on June 16th, 1944, in Queens, New York, to the late E. Joseph and Blanche (Panuska) Warro. He graduated from Island Trees High School, Levittown, NY, in 1962. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served aboard the USS Essex until August of 1968. Michael settled in Selden, Long Island, NY, where he married Clare Smyth and raised his family. He retired from Xerox Corp after 34 years and moved to Woodstock. Ga. in 2009.
Michael was a loving family man who spent summers camping with his family and sharing his hobbies with his grandchildren. A respected friend and mentor to many, Mike enjoyed conversation and was knowledgeable on many topics. He was always available to help family and friends when called upon.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Thomas A. Warro.
Michael is survived by his wife of 52 years, Clare (Smyth) Warro of Woodstock, GA, son, Christopher Warro, and wife Doris Garey of Marietta, GA, daughter, Maryellen Smith of Flint TX, grandsons, Connor Warro and Benjamin Warro and granddaughter, Abigail Smith. He is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Monday, August 10th, 2020, at 12 p.m. at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock, GA.
He will be laid to rest at the Georgia National Cemetery under the direction of Woodstock Funeral Home.
