Mildred Juanita Thompson, age 85, of Woodstock, Georgia, formerly of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017. Mrs. Thompson was more affectionately known as “grandma” by her family, friends and even health care providers. She was nothing less of a spitfire – strong, independent and ready to speak her mind. She was an admirer of handsome men, had a great sense of humor, and loved life. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed westerns such as Rawhide, Bonanza, and anything with John Wayne. She is survived by her daughters, Vicky Hawkins and her husband, Bill, of Woodstock, Georgia and Mildred Holcomb and her husband, Roger, of Gainesville, Georgia; grandchildren, Robby and McKenzie Hawkins, and Jessie, Porter and Shane Holcomb; and three great-grandchildren to cherish her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Thompson’s honor to Wellstar Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain at https://4agc.com/donation_pages/eb2a1019-c7bc-46e5-9020-a352bf67fbbf.
