

Millie attended Agnes Scott College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music. She devoted her life to her family as a loving stay-at-home mother, raising her five children. She also had a deep commitment to serving others and was recognized for her volunteer work in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she received the St. Francis Award for her compassion and generosity.
Millie was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Throughout her life, she served faithfully in many callings, including Relief Society President, Primary pianist, ward organist, and public relations liaison.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” J. Waters; her son, William “Mark” Waters; her parents, Gurney and Elizabeth Bane; her sister, Margaret Long; and her son-in-law, Aaron Reed.
Millie is survived by her daughters, Lynn (David) Hobbs, Rebeccah (James) Brown, Kerry Reed, and Jenna (Jeff) Horwitz; her brother, Allan (Anita) Bane; her cherished grandchildren, Alex, Matt, Hannah, Ben, Emma, Sam, Savannah; and by her great grandchildren, Cameron, Brody, Juliet, and Aubrey.
Millie will be remembered for her kindness, faith, and unwavering love for her family and community.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia 30188.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2205 Bascomb Carmel Road, Woodstock, Georgia 30189.
She will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery, located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114, on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM.
