It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mohamad Gavahi, a cherished husband, father, and friend, who passed away peacefully in his home on July 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Isfahan, Iran, Mohamad immigrated to America with a dream and unwavering determination to create a better future for his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to Manijeh and a proud father to his two daughters, Noushin and Nazanin. Mohamad not only paved the way for his daughters to build the life he dreamed of for them, but he also instilled in them the values of hard work, generosity, and a commitment to their Persian heritage.
He was a devoted son and a beloved brother, deeply connected to his mother, Maliheh, and his siblings Mahmoud, Zahra, Ahmad, Masoud, and Khosro. Through unconditional love and loyalty, Mohamad nurtured those bonds across time and distance, remaining a steady source of strength, support, and care throughout his life.
A master of his craft, Mohamad built a legacy through his passion for Persian rugs and antiques. With a discerning eye and reverence for tradition, he spent decades curating and restoring pieces that told stories of culture, craftsmanship, and history. As the heart and soul of Atlanta Fine Rugs and Antiques, Mohamad poured his artistry and integrity into every corner of the business, earning the trust and admiration of collectors, designers, and friends around the world. His dedication wasn’t just to the items themselves, but to preserving a legacy—one knot, one weave, one relationship at a time.
Mohamad found joy in the simple things, whether it was the soothing sounds of nature, the warmth of the sun on his face, or the peaceful view of the river from his backyard. He cherished these small moments, finding comfort in the rhythms of life and the beauty of the everyday. His generosity was limitless, always ready to lend a hand or offer his wisdom to those around him. His kindness, deep insight, and infectious love for life touched everyone he met, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and family.
Although his physical presence will be deeply missed, Mohamad’s spirit will live on through his family and all those whose lives he touched. Mohamad will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Georgia, surrounded by trees, sunlight, and the quiet stillness he so deeply cherished. For those who wish to honor his memory, the space will always be open to visit, reflect, and feel his enduring presence.
With love,
Manijeh, Noushin, and Nazanin
