Nylia Fay Owens

She passed peacefully with her family by her side at WellStar Hospice Center in Marietta, Ga. from an acute stroke.

Born in Marietta, Ga. June 19, 1945. In her early years she was a Cobb County School bus driver. She worked at Western Sizzlin Steak House for many years until she became disabled. After that she worked at Pat-A-Cake bakery until it was sold.

She is survived by her brother Joe Larry Carlile (Judy Croft), her children Eddie Caldwell, Stacey Hays (Bill Hays), Shannon Owens (Shannon Taylor-Owens) 6 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

We will miss her wit, smile and her loving heart.

A Celebration of Life will be held May 3, 2025, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Shallowford Free Will Baptist Church, 1686 Shallowford Road, Marietta, Georgia, 30066.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for you to plant a flower or a tree in your yard/garden in remembrance of her as she loved to garden and have her hands in the dirt.
