Oliver was born to Arthur and Emma Evans on June 25, 1932 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the youngest of five children. After graduating from St. Justins high school in 1951 he married the love of his life, Verna Johnson. He joined the Navy and served from 1951 - 1955. After serving, he earned his degree in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. After many years working in the engineering industry, Oliver started his own project management company in Roswell GA in 1985. Although he had many accomplishments in his career, Oliver was most proud of the family he and Verna built together.
Oliver is survived by his children Kevin (Gail) Evans, Heidi (David) Symanski, Jay Evans, daughter-in-law Kathy York and 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Oliver was preceded in death by wife Verna Johnson Evans, son Deane Evans and daughter-in-law Cindy Evans.
Oliver, lovingly known as Pap, Lee or Ollie to many, will always be remembered as a kind, loving man. Never having an unkind word to anyone, he truly embodied the meaning of a "good" man. Though he will be greatly missed by those left behind we take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his loving wife and son.
The family will be celebrating Oliver's life privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Judes Children's Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association and all of his name.
