Olando was a loving person and was known affectionately as “Lanny” to all who knew him. He had a kind and giving spirit and a friendly smile that would warm your heart.
Lanny grew up in Jamaica Queens, NY and graduated from Jamaica High School. He joined the United States Air Force after high school and he served on active duty for eight years. Thereafter, he joined the United States Army and served there on active duty for an additional eight years. He later joined the Army Reserve for four years from which he retired in 2018.
Lanny loved riding his motorcycle through the mountains and he had a great love for automobiles- owning cars such as a BMW and a Mercedes-Benz. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as his military lifestyle.
Lanny is predeceased by his father, Olando Sr, his two grandmothers, Dorothy Hart and Ruby McAllister, and his dear niece, Serena David.
Lanny leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: three children, Paris, Kaela and Quentin Hart; his loving mother, Charlotte Hart; special companion, Glynis Foster; godfather, Franklin Goudet; loving aunts, Victoria David and Melissa Washington; four very special friends, US Navy Retired Chief Petty Officer Keith Benjamin, Karen Cox, Willa Allgood and Mark McKeller; and a host of military brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
