September 7, 1948 – June 15, 2025
Patricia Cornelius passed away peacefully on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15, 2025 at the age of 76, at the home she lovingly designed and built with her husband in Canton, Georgia.
Born on September 7, 1948, in Medford, Oregon, Patricia’s life was deeply shaped by faith, family, and service. She met her husband, John, at Bethany Bible College in Scotts Valley, California, where they began a life together rooted in shared values. Married for 53 years, they raised two sons, Jeremy and Ryan, and built a home life centered on church and community.
After their sons reached adulthood, John’s career with UPS brought the couple to Georgia, where they built their forever home. It was there — surrounded by comfort, memories, and love — that Patricia spent her final years.
Patricia was an active member of Christian Life Center in Santa Cruz, and later became part of the congregation, choir, and banquet ministry at First Baptist Church of Woodstock in Georgia, where she stayed engaged and spiritually connected until her health no longer allowed her to attend in person.
She deeply cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren — Zachary, Johnathan, and Kyrra — and took great joy in strengthening those bonds in recent years. She also warmly welcomed Ryan’s wife, Kimberlee, and her sons, Dylan and Connor, into her life with open arms and genuine kindness. In her final months, Kim lovingly cared for her at her bedside, sharing precious “girl time” and keeping her well-supplied with chocolate — her favorite food group.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Louis, and her siblings, Ron and Alena. Her passing closes a chapter in her family's story, but the role she played in the lives of those around her will be remembered.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Mi6, Skylar, Steve and the entire hospice support team at Amedisys, whose grace and kindness brought comfort in Patricia’s final days. With her sons residing in California, the family was deeply blessed that God placed them all in their lives.
Though her journey included many challenges, Patricia’s legacy is one of perseverance and faith.
