She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, graduated from West End High School and attended Auburn University. In 1962, when she married her soul mate, Ronald Peterson, their adventure began. Ron and Pat were transferred to many different states for his job with Westinghouse. She would proudly and excitedly go by his side and make the new house their loving home.
Pat found joy and happiness in her Christian faith, her marriage, her children, grandchildren, volunteer work, gardening and the countless vacations with her family and friends.
Later in life, her physical struggles became difficult. Although the pain could be unmanageable, her faith and joyous personality never wavered. She has been known for saying “I don’t worry about that because I have Jesus looking out for me.” She showed her faith through her actions and the kindness that she showed everyone.
Pat and Ron’s marriage was one of the best love stories ever written. Through the trials of taking care of their ailing parents, raising three sometimes unruly teenagers, and the other curve balls that were thrown their way, they managed to lovingly work together as partners. They would always hold hands, gaze at each other with pure love and friendship, and always cheered on the other one. Their love story is one to be in awe of and hopefully one to be emulated.
In 2023, Pat and Ron moved to Holbrook in Woodstock. Mom, although shy at times, managed to make dear friends who she loved to tell her children about. As well as brag about her children to them.
Pat was a mom who gave unselfishly, guided her children and grandchildren with faith and love. Pat was their biggest cheerleader and in her eyes her children were “the best kids”. She loved spending time taking her grandchildren to the pool, playing with trains and tea parties.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald D. Peterson, daughter, Karen Scarborough, (Jeff Scarborough-deceased), grandchildren James Scarborough, (Jessica Scarborough) great-grandson, Jericho, granddaughter, Chelsea, (Imani Ellison). Son, Ronald D. Peterson Jr, (Kathleen Marran), daughter Anne Kisella, (John Kisella), granddaughters Shayna Kisella, Amber McMichen (Lee McMichen), great-granddaughter, Brylee, niece Janet Wilson and nephews Dr. Jack Noe and Jeremy Noe.
More information will follow soon for a gathering of a celebration of her life.
