Patricia Walker

Patricia Grace “Tracy” Walker 69, of Acworth, GA, daughter of William and Pamela Walker, died peacefully Wednesday August 12, 2026, at Heritage Hospice in Kennesaw. After beating pancreatic cancer, she succumbed to complications from cancer treatment.

She was born at Georgia Baptist Hospital August 12, 1957. She was a graduate of Georgia State University with a degree in Economics.

She worked as a bookkeeper for several CPA firms and as controller for several small businesses before starting CCAT, llc. in 1996 where she supported and trained users of Peachtree Software until ramping down to private practice in the early 2000s. She acted as controller for several small businesses before retiring in 2026.

Tracy was unabashedly liberal and supported many causes. She loved God and nature in all forms. One of her favorite activities was feeding wildlife wherever she had the chance, including Stone Mountain, Rocky Mountain National Park, The Mall in Washington, D.C., Yellow River Game Ranch, and especially her own backyard. She was an avid follower of Georgia Tech football (her father’s alma mater).

Her interests included crafts of all kinds. She made jewelry, sewing of all kinds, as well as drawing. She was an advanced scuba diver and dove sites throughout the Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexico. She was an avid reader and collected a large and varied library including works on all religions, classical works including poetry, as well as popular fiction. She was a great believer in animal rescue and had many rescue cats over the years. She enjoyed music and attended opera, stage musicals, and heavy metal concerts.

She is survived by husband John Jolley, stepmother Margaret Walker, brother William Rheins (Rebecca) and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Poole Funeral Home, 1970 Eagle Drive, Woodstock, GA 30109 on September 19. Meet and greet 11AM-1PM with celebration of life at 1PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Doctors Without Borders, Nature Conservancy, The Sierra Club, Habitat for Humanity or Atlanta Union Mission are requested.
