Paul V. Smalley, 83, of Manhattan, NY passed away in Marietta, GA on April 28, 2020. Paul recently moved to Woodstock, GA to be closer to his sister. Paul was a loving family man and a friend to all he met. Moving to New York City at 19, he was a lifelong “Manhattanite”. A true city boy, Paul liked to travel by train across the United States to be with friends and family. Paul was selfless and spent holidays volunteering in soup kitchens and helping the homeless. He was a retired member of the New York Teamster Union #210. His family will remember him as the first person they called with family news; he was a good listener with quiet wisdom and always had a colorful story.
Remembering Paul with fondness and hilarity are sister, Kate Schmidt, nephew Paul Schmidt, niece Genevieve Lewis, Levittown, sister in law Barbara Smalley, and 17 adored nieces and nephews with their loving extended families. He was preceded in death by his parents, George A. and Genevieve Smalley, and siblings, George Smalley, William Smalley, Joseph Smalley and Genevieve Accomando.
There will be a memorial service in New York at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Paul to St. Joe’s soup kitchen, http://sjsk.nyc/donate/ or at http://encorecommunityservices.org/ , a meals on wheels service for the elderly in New York City.
