

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Stewart, who passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, at the age of 85. Paul was born on December 15, 1939, in Houston TX. He served honorably in the US Air Force as a Bomb Navigation Instructor and later worked for Varian Instruments and IBM in computer sales and service.
Paul, also known as “Papa”, was a kind and gentle spirit who loved his country and his family. He was an active member of the community in the Woodstock Optimist Club and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodstock. He loved golfing, hunting, boating and traveling. He also enjoyed coaching softball and attending events in support of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shara Mae Stewart; his daughters, Terrie Barnes and Audrey (Richard) Craig; grandchildren, Ashley (John) Webster, Amber (Andrew) Palmer, Kristen (Wil) Chastain, and Jason Craig; seven great-grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his brother, David (Tracy) Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Poole Funeral Home, 1970 Eagle Drive in Woodstock, GA, with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Poole Funeral Home Chapel.
Please join us immediately following the service for a dove release in honor of Paul, presented by the Woodstock Optimist Club.
Graveside burial services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
