I'm a distant cousin, but I remember all of Herbert and Colleen's children from when we were little. My mother was Patricia Reed Rich. Both my mom and Colleen became widows around the same time (1957). My dad disappeared and was later found dead in the Etowah River in Cartersville. I wrote a book a few years back entitled, "Rolling Waters--A Southern Memoir", about his death. My grandfather was Chester Reed, a brother of Corbett, Irene, Minnie, and Esther. My great-grandparents were John and Annie Reed. I was sorry to hear about Phyllis' death. I recognized her picture instantly because she reminded me so much of Colleen. We not only share the same first name, but almost the same birthdays. I was born on October 29, 1946. We have led varied lives, but we all came from incredibly strong and creative people. My love to all of Phyllis' surviving family members!

Phyllis was a dear friend, loving and kind. For a time, we went dancing at the American Legion together. We also worked at the Northside/Alpharetta Campus in Women’s Imaging for ten years along with a great team of women.
I retired October of 2011 and shall miss Phyllis ‘s sweet face and disposition. May God grant all the members of her family peace and comfort as they mourn the loss of their beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Sister.
