He was born on February 23, 1934 in Clay County, AL. Growing up he lived in the mountains and enjoyed hunting. His fondest childhood memory was skipping school to go swimming in the creek. Pink graduated from Montgomery Bible School in Alabama with an Associates, where he met his wife Sylvia Bunn. He served his country in the USAF as Airman First Class with an honorable discharge. While in the USAF he won Airman of the Month and Airman of the Quarter. His reward was a trip to NY where his wife was flown out to meet him. He then worked for AT&T as a manager and retired December 1989. After retirement he worked at North Atlanta Church of Christ taking care of the building and grounds for 9 years. Following his second retirement in 1999, Pink and Sylvia went out west for 5 weeks visiting National Parks. Pink and Sylvia volunteered by mentoring people in the Anchor Ministry for 11 years at North Atlanta Church of Christ. In his later life he was fond of golfing with groups from Church and spending time with his family on the water, boating and skiing. But his very favorite thing to do was keeping a well-manicured lawn, which he always took pride in.
