

Funeral services will be held 7 P.M. Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Heritage Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Sid Gunter officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 5 to 7 P.M. at Woodstock Funeral Home. Mr. Walker was born June 22, 1945 in Hot Springs, AR to the late Ralph Waldo II and Ruth Eleanor Albrecht Walker. Mr. Walker obtained his Bachelors of Science from Jacksonville State University in 1968, also obtained his Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL in 1973, and his Master’s in Business Administration from Kennesaw State University in 1993. Mr. Walker served his country in the U.S. Army earning the rank as 1st Lieutenant while in active duty. After serving in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged from active duty, but continued to serve with the Army Reserves attaining the rank of Major. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1988. After his military career was over he practiced law with his father, Ralph W. Walker II, and brother, Ralph W. Walker III, in metro-Atlanta. He was also a Councilman for the City of Acworth. Furthermore, Mr. Walker was employed with AT&T, in the Payroll, Purchasing & Supplies and the Information Systems Departments. Mr. Walker worked for Kennesaw State University as Adjunct Professor at Coles College of Business and Director of Information Technologies. Mr. Walker enjoyed working with Umpires Unlimited as a high school and ASA Softball Umpire after retiring from full-time employment.
Mr. Walker was an ordained Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA). He served as a long-time Small Group Leader at Montreat Youth Conferences in Montreat, NC. He was very active in Youth Ministries, and was very supportive of Santa’s Caravan Ministry with Heritage Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Jean Walker; three children, Sarah Crane Walker, Elizabeth Nicole Walker Glas, and Christopher Michael Walker; two grandchildren, Ashley Cassandra Walker and Justin Alexander Walker; six sisters, Lily Iglehart, Joy Marinelli, Mimi Graham, Diane Lyons, Jennifer Guillory, and Ellen Virginia Walker Pitts; three brothers, Ralph W. Walker III, Perry Crane Walker, and Joseph Simonds Walker; many beloved nieces and nephews.
