Raymond Eddie Grooms

Mr. Grooms had a tragic accident on May 8, 2025. After a short stay in hospital, he passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025.

Mr. Grooms, 75 was born in Savannah, GA to the late Heyward Grooms and the late Margie Joseph Grooms. Most knew him by "Eddie". Eddie was a home builder, licenced real estate broker, wood craftsmen, and gardener. His passions and hobbies were found in his garden and his animals. A lifetime of loving all creatures great and small, horses, cats, dogs, bees, doves and chickens.

While still in highschool, Eddie met JoAnn Zipperer. After high school, he joined the US Coast Guard Reserves. They wedded on July 6, 1968, and were married for 56 years. They have four children, Jeff, Laura, Tina and Beth.

Surviving are his wife, Jo Ann Zipperer Grooms, son-Jeff (Brandy) Grooms, daughters- Laura(Scott) Schuttinga, Tina(Glenn) Anderson, Beth(Michael) Karp, fifteen grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, four sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Poole Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00pm-2:00pm.
