Renee Emanuel

Renee Adelaide Emanuel nee Weidman, passed away peacefully after a short illness surrounded by her children. She is preceded by her loving husband of 55 years, Clarence John Emanuel and her 5 siblings, Lawrence (Mavis) Weidman, Elizabeth (Garfield) Lester, Darlene (Wayne) Goslee, Roland (Jeanie) Weidman, and Ronald (Bernadette) Weidman. She is survived by her children Karen (Shirley Weller) Emanuel, Glenn (Marsha) Emanuel, Brian (Irene) Emanuel and Steve (Joanne) Emanuel and grandchildren Bridget (Zach) Bryant, Celeste Kate Emanuel, Brett Emanuel, Emily (Justin) Malohn, Kent Emanuel and Alexis (Tyson) Pucket. Additionally, she was blessed with six great grandchildren.

Born in Chicago in 1930, Renee attended St. Mathias Grade School and St. Alphonsus High School

She spent her life managing a very busy household and supporting her husband in his HVAC business, Emanuel Bros. Heating and Cooling. She was always a savvy businesswoman stretching the household budget, finding the deals, saving and investing. She was an excellent cook and baker as well.

Renee was an avid pinochle and bridge player mastering both games. Her interests were not limited to indoor activities. Renee loved to fish. After her husband’s retirement, the couple enjoyed the summer and early fall months at their Wisconsin cabin in Wabeno.

Her funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 31st at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1280 Prospect Ave., Des Plaines, IL at 11:00 AM. Family will receive visitors at the church beginning at 10:30 AM.
