Mr. Richard James Kunkel

Richard James Kunkel, age 88, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017. Mr. Kunkel was a humble, dedicated, serious man whose world revolved around his family. Throughout his children’s lives, he supported them in any way he could, including becoming a leader of the boy scouts and actively coaching in various sports. He was a constant confidant and advisor guiding the way to live one’s life. He served his country as an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include the love of his life and his wife of 66 years, Peggy Williams Kunkel; children, James R. Kunkel and his wife, Brenda, Fred Kunkel and his wife, Donna, Jane Lauglaug, Janis Doubek and her husband, Rick, Margaret Roland, Kirk Kunkel and his wife, Charo, and Laura Brook and her husband, Darrel; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren to cherish his memory. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm at Woodstock Funeral Home in Woodstock, Georgia.
