Richard Stanley Prokopek

Richard Stanley Prokopek, age 68, passed away September 8, 2010 at his residence in Woodstock, GA. Richard was born in Chicago, IL where he attended St. Mark’s Elementary School and graduated from Gordon Technical High School. He received his BS degree from Illinois Institute of Technology. After college he was employed by Motorola for 32 years in communication design in consuls and International Communications. He also was a volunteer at the Western Open Golf Tournament and East Lakes Golf Tournament. Richard is survived by his wife, Barbara of Woodstock, daughters, Terri Herod (Alan) of Atlanta, and Jean Prokopek-Kasnick (Eric) of Roselle, IL, sister, Nancy Castrogiovanni (Philip) of Roselle, IL, grandchildren, Matthew Prokopek of Roselle. IL, Alexa Herod and Bryce Herod of Atlanta. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Woodstock Funeral Home Chapel in Woodstock, GA. Rev. Art Wilder will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, September 10, 2010 from 2 until 8 PM at the funeral home.
