ROBERT "BOBBY' LEONARD FRANKLIN, JR. age 56, went home to be with the Lord. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on February 13, 1955 to the late Robert Leonard Franklin and Elizabeth McKee Franklin, and was brother to the late Norval Franklin Springfield (Steve) and Kydie Franklin Sharp (Chris). He attended Auburn University and graduated from Covenant College. Robert (Bobby) served as a State Representative in the Georgia House of Representatives for 15 years. He was known among his friends and colleagues for his passion and commitment to his beliefs.
Bobby is survived by his three children, Robert Leonard Franklin III (Katherine), Mary Elizabeth Thomas (Andrew), and Kathryn Elizabeth Franklin; grandchildren, Esther Caroline Franklin and Audra Rachel Thomas; his mother, Elizabeth McKee Franklin; and his sister, Kydie Franklin Sharp (Chris).
A service to honor his life will be held at Woodstock Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011. Visitation to follow.
