Robert Henry Thomas

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Poole Funeral Home Chapel with Thor Chumley officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Hills Memory Gardens with Poole Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday.

Mr. Thomas was born August 24, 1925, in Roopville, Georgia to the late Robert M. and Tessie Hewitt Thomas. Mr. Thomas served his country in the U.S. Navy and entered the Navy at age 17 from May 19, 1944, until June 5, 1946. He was aboard the USS OBrien and USS Bebas. After his military service he returned home and became a Brick Mason. Later, Mr. Thomas became a Dock Master and later a certified small engine repairman. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Acworth, GA.

Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, and two infant children, Pamela Jean Thomas and Robert Henry Thomas, Jr. and his wife, Minnie Mae Little Thomas.

Survivors include his three daughters, Cynthia Chumley (JC), Chena Wester (Jerry), and Anne Mitchell; grandchildren, Robby Chumley, Josh Chumley, Sheree White, Jessica Mitchell; stepchildren, Derek Little and Lynn Gossett; 11 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters, Mattie Hutcheson and Autry Brock.
