Bob was born to the late Ramon L Ramirez “Ray” and the late Carmen Dolores Mercedes Ferrer “Mercedes” on December 9, 1956 in Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was a military brat and was a world traveler at a young age, living in places like Panama, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
Bob was a great friend and neighbor: he was always willing to help others and was generous with his time and talents. Bob loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. With his wife, Grissette, he enjoyed dancing to salsa music in the kitchen, playing dominos, binge-watching series on Netflix, and playing backgammon. He was a life-long motorcycle enthusiast and found great joy in riding his BMW bike. More than anything, Bob was a man who loved his family. He was an excellent provider, a caring husband, and a great papi.
Bob lived a beautiful life full of memories with family and friends. His time on earth was a blessing to those whose lives he touched and his memory will live on through those who knew him.
Roberto “Bob” Ramirez is survived by his loving wife, Grissette Castro; children, Sergio Andres Ramirez (Stephanie), Lara Danelle Castillo (Gabriel), Gustavo Luis Ramirez, and Sylmarie Ramirez; grandson, Mason Ramirez and granddaughter, Mila Castillo; sisters, Yvette Nevares (Rafael); nephew, Ryan Nevares; Eileen Ramirez Oyola (Nelson); and other extended family members.
Bob’s family will hold a private celebration of life service in his memory.
