It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Charles Gallup who departed this life on June 21, 2025. Ron was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing them.
Born on March 1, 1940, Ron lived a life marked by kindness, determination, and an unwavering commitment. Since 1955 Ron was a car enthusiast with a passion for hot rods and custom-built street rods studying publications such as Rod and Custom, Car Craft, and Rodding and Restyling, etc.. He was involved in the establishment of the Georgia Street Rod Association and Kustom Kemps of America. He served in the United States Air Force in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1965. He worked at Lockheed Aeronautical Systems Company for 39 years as an electronics specialist. In 1988 he was awarded a Silver Veteran's Badge by the Grand Lodge of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
Ron was a longtime member of GraceLife Church in Marietta. He was an esteemed deacon, a member of the finance committee and a member of the choir. He was loved by all who came into contact with him.
Ron is survived by his wife, Laurentia B. Gallup and daughter, Ruth Anne Gallup, grandson, Christopher W. Casner and granddaughter, Chelsea A Casner, who will continue to honor their memory by carrying forward the lessons and love they so generously shared. He is preceded by Charles F. and Ruth Gallup and sister Sharon Gallup.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Thursday, June 26, 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Woodstock Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday, June 27, 11:00 am at Woodstock Funeral Home and an honorable burial ceremony will be at Green Lawn Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
Ron's legacy is one of love, resilience, and compassion. Though Ron's absence leaves an emptiness in our hearts, he will forever be remembered and cherished. Rest in peace, dear Ron.
