Ronald Lee Rushing Sr., age 77, of Holly Springs, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Ron was born on December 24, 1940 in Lead Hill, Arkansas to the late Durward and Lynna Rushing. Ron was the middle of three children and was part of the 1958 graduating class of Bergman School in Bergman, Arkansas. Ron worked for CCA which transferred him from Chicago, Illinois to Woodstock, Georgia, after his company changed hands, Ron held a position managing one of Weyerhauser’s divisions that specialized in mechanical packaging until retiring to Holly Springs, GA. Ron was hardworking, fun loving, and well liked. He enjoyed playing chess and other games, children and animals loved him, and most of all he was devoted to his friends and family. Ron is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Leontine Joan Rushing. His memory will be cherished by his sons, Ronald L. Rushing Jr. and his wife, Carol, and Craig Rushing; daughters, Tracy Cain and Leanne Dillard; grandchildren, Carissa Outen and her husband, David, Caitlin Cain, Tyler Rushing, Alex Cain, Michaela Rushing and Jacob Dillard; great-grandchild, Cian Outen; brother, Richard Rushing; sister, Gloria Stracener and several loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Woodstock Funeral Home 8855 Main Street Woodstock, Georgia 30188 with services to follow in the Reece Memorial Chapel. A committal service will be held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Georgia. A celebration of life will follow the graveside service at Ron’s home and all are welcome.
