The Lodge at Stephens Lake, Jasper, Georgia. Roy is survived by his daughter,
Rebecca (Becky) Jo Melton (Hank) of Wrightsville, Georgia, daughter Nancy Ann

Georgia, and son, Neil Wayne Noblitt (Natalie), of Peoria, Arizona. Also surviving is

Florida. He is Dada to 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in
death by his loving wife, Joyce A. Noblitt, parents, Walter and Lucille Noblitt, brother,
Gene Noblitt.
Roy was born on May 23, 1927 in Salem, Indiana. As a child he was a member of First
Christian Church of Salem, Indiana, graduated from Salem High School and Indiana
University. He served in the Army as well.
Roy worked in Indianapolis where he met Joyce and they were married in August of
1953. They lived in Indianapolis for the first few years then moved to Orlando, Florida
where they raised their family. Roy was a Purchasing Manager; his career included
Indiana Gear Works, Martin Marietta, Walt Disney World, American Machinery, and
Travelers Insurance Company. He took pride in his work and earned many accolades
throughout the years. He was also very involved at Pine Hills Christian Church where
he served as an elder and Treasurer for many years. He nurtured many lifelong
friendships.
Roy and Joyce moved to Clermont, Florida then to Franklin, North Carolina once he
retired. He enjoyed living in the mountains and they fast became a part of Mountain
City Christian Church then later helped start First Christian Church in Franklin. When
Roy had a stroke in July of 2014, he and Joyce moved to Georgia to be near family.
Roy was a man of integrity. He loved the Lord. He loved his wife and his family. He was
heard saying that he knew he had a good life, a perfect wife, and a good family. He
relished times when the family all got together, watching everyone talk, laugh, and play
together. He felt very blessed. He will be missed, but he is where he was ready to go -
to be with the Lord and his beloved wife.
