Connie, I never met you personally but did talk to you briefly on the phone when I called to speak to your Mom.  Your Mom was such a wonderful woman and friend.  So much energy and love of life and others, she always gave generously of her time.  She was always such a exemplary example for others.  I have so many great memories of my time in high school with her and your Dad.  Like you, I will miss her so much but know she is in a better place with your Dad and brother.  Will be keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

It was so nice to meet you Connie. I knew Ruth at kennestone (I told you she pleated my Grady cap). She was beautiful inside and out. And you certainly got her beauty genes. She was always so nice. I never heard any one say anything unkind about her. Everyone loved her. May God hold you and your family close

I've know Ruth for couple months in 2021. The love and kindness she always showed me was genuine and unforgettable.  Soft spoken and always offering something, she spoke of her career as a nurse, the clubs she enjoyed, especially the garden club. I cherished her thoughts and words she gave. It's a sad lost, but she has travel her course.  To her family I send my love and as always you will stay in my prayers. I thank God for allowing me to have know such a beautiful soul, Ruth Walters Burgess.  Until we meet again sleep in peace. Love always.

I worked with Ruth in Administration at Kennestone for many years. She was one of my favorite people; so sweet and so much fun. I'll never forget the time Ruth, her daughter Connie along with Connie's daughter, my husband and my grandson, watched the Blue Angels perform from the employee parking deck. Or how much fun I had photographing the 60th Kennestone birthday parade on July 4th, 2010. Ruth and Joyce were the stars of the parade. I will always remember her with much love and appreciation for her help in my growth as an employee and as a compassionate person. RIP Ruth. I know you have happily joined your husband and son.

What a kind and sweet lady. I can still hear her soft voice as she hired me as a new graduate nurse in 1978 at Kennestone. She gave me the opportunity of my life to serve others as she did for many years.

Connie, I worked with your Mom for many years. She was the most positive person I have ever known. You think of people who light up a room when they enter, that was your Mom. She took me on my first trip to the UGA campus for a special tour. You were completing your college days there and our daughter was beginning hers. Our favorite time of each year was recruiting those new graduate nurses. Ruth was so natural at being a friend, mentor or leader. May God shower you and the family with peace, health and happiness🙏

Connie, I don’t know you but I knew your mom back in the 70’s.  I started working weekends in the Nursing Office when I was only 15 years old.  I didn’t get to work with her much as I was hired to be the office contact on weekends.As a young, impressionable teen, I was struck with her sweet personality, her patience, her professionalism, skills and the freckled face beauty she was.  Undoubtedly she was a mentor for me of how I would adult one day.  I will never forget her.  You were truly blessed to call her yours I know.

Ruth was a kind and gentle soul. She preceded me by 2 years at Grady and by 3 years at Kennestone. I never heard an unkind word come from her in the 35 years that she was my superior. Her gift was kindness and caring. I always have had great respect for her and know God will have a special place for her in His Kingdom. My prayers to her family, I know she will be greatly missed.

Ruth was an absolutely wonderful lady.  She was so beautiful inside and out.  She was a loyal friend to my mother-in-law, Joyce.  I will always remember her telling me that she was so happy I had married Wendell, my husband because now Joyce had a daughter too!  She was so very sweet and made me feel welcome in my new family.  Peace and love to her family and now she gets to rest.  ❤️😘🙏🏻

I have nothing but great memories of Ruth while in nursing school. Always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say. She was funny and a joy to be around. We rekindled our friendship at the class reunions. She will be missed. Prayers of understanding and acceptance for the family. So sorry for your loss.

Ruth has been my best friend for more than 55 years and we shared so many memories from taking our young children to Atlanta to see the Ice Capade to going to orientation at UGA as Connie and  Wendell start their journey ; To seeing each of them get married , and how we have held our bond for so many more events . Rest In Peace my dear friend . A long lifetime of beautiful and funny memories 🌺

Ruth was probably the kindest and most dignified one of all of us in the Grady School of Nursing 9/62 class. I have nothing but fond memories of her in our school years and at the many class reunions. I am so sorry for your loss.

I have nothing but good memories of Ruth who was a very kind neighbor to my late parents in Marietta.  The world would be a much better place if more people had the love and compassion for others that Ruth displayed in her life.

Only beautiful memories are what I have of your Mom, Connie.  She was instrumental in my decision to pursue nursing. She was a true, kind, leader and a giant for speaking her truth. A gemstone for me.

Connie, I’m so very sorry for your loss. Ruth was my good friend, and the sweetest lady! She was always thinking of and helping others. She came to the hospital several times to support me when my husband was dying. I treasure some ferns she shared with me. I have fond memories of her and I know you’ll miss her dreadfully.
