Ruth Riddlespurger Hudgins

March 4, 1926 - March 25, 2017

Ruth R. Hudgins, 91, of Woodstock, GA died March 25, 2017 after an acute bout of pneumonia. Ruth was the daughter of William Robert and Agnes Riddlespurger of Gadsden, Alabama, widow of Elex T. Hudgins, sister of the late William M. Riddlespurger, and sister to the late Bobbi Ayers Ha. She is survived by her only son, Charles T. Hudgins, one grandson and two great grandchildren all living in the Woodstock, GA. Ruth worked as a bookkeeper for Cobb County until her retirement. She was an avid bowler for much of her life and a formidable canasta player at the Cobb County Senior Center until age 90. Ruth made good use of her gym membership as therapy after several surgeries and continued her workouts up until her convalescence six months before her passing. Her ready smile, kind demeanor, and gentle ways will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Private services will be held at Woodstock Funeral Home on April 8 and at her family burial site the following week in Gadsden, Alabama. Instead of flowers, the family requests that you take an elder family member of your own out to lunch.
