Sam had many interests in life, but his all-time favorite was to watch sports, and above all sports, college football. His favorite team was the Alabama Crimson Tide. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, watching old movies, listening to old country music along with the blues, and anything with John Lennon. Sam also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was known to be a people person. In second grade, he met a girl by the name of Terri, and didn’t know it at the time, but she was his future wife. In August of 1973, Sam married the love of his life and they were together for forty-four years.
He is survived by his wife, Terri; daughters, Tamara (Bronson) Dunn of Kingston and Samantha Ducote of Woodstock; twin grandsons, Eric Samuel Ducote and Carter Ellis Ducote, both of Woodstock; granddog Rex; one brother and two sisters.
Along with his parents, Sam is preceded in death by a special aunt and uncle, Hilda and Jack Witcher; and a sister.
A visitation to honor Mr. Sam Ducote will take place at eleven o’clock in the morning to two o’clock in the afternoon at Woodstock Funeral Home on Saturday, December 30, 2017. As it is college football bowl season, Sam’s favorite time of year, please dress in your favorite team colors and be comfortable. Unless, you are an Auburn fan...
