Shaun Patrick McDaniel

Loving son and brother, Shaun Patrick McDaniel passed away peacefully in his home on March 24, 2026.

Born on the Fourth of July on Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, Shaun embodied the spirit of a true firecracker from the very beginning. A gifted and driven student, he earned the International Baccalaureate Diploma from Rutherford High School in Panama City, Florida, and later went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Shaun consistently strove for excellence in all that he pursued, as reflected in his many academic achievements. Beyond his remarkable intellect, he was deeply compassionate, caring profoundly about the well‑being of others and the advancement of science into realms yet to be explored. His curiosity about the universe and his desire to contribute meaningfully to the world defined both his personal and professional aspirations.

Shaun is survived by his loving mother, Debi McDaniel; his father, Master Sgt. Darin McDaniel, USAF (Ret.); his stepfather, retired Fire Lieutenant Brad Stewart; his stepmother, Victoria McDaniel; his younger brother, United State Army Cpl. Gavin McDaniel; his older sibling, Cleopatra McDaniel; and his grandmother, Jean McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his grandparents H.E. “Dan” McDaniel, Charles Jones, and Donna Davis. Shaun will be remembered for his brilliance, kindness, and boundless dreams. We love you to the moon and beyond, and we hope you are now living those dreams among the stars.
