Shellene loved Life, Learning and above all Teaching
Shellene graduated from Georgia State with degrees in English Literature and Psychology. She began teaching at Stone Mountain High School at the age of 19.
Shellene raised her Arabian horse Badee Kahlil who became East and West Coast Champion. She spent several years in southern California as an actress and trainer for Hollywood elites. She had her son Beau in ’82 and they travelled to horse shows throughout the US together. Shellene returned to Atlanta in ’87 and began teaching at Cherokee High School. She went to Sequoyah High School when it opened and was there until 2007.
Shellene retired due to health reasons and became involved in the Red Hat Society. She was queen of the Red Razzle Dazzles and later established the NW Georgia Queens Council. She loved Red Hatting and acted as Director of the Queens Council through 2019.
Anyone who knew her will tell you she loved life and lived it to the max She was known to all as Queen Bling Shellene. The queen’s council always looked forward to meetings where Shellene would present interesting obscure information about the topic of the month.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years Jim Haza – All other family members preceded her
She was loved by all and will never be forgotten – She was a Queen among Queens
