Obituary of Shirley Marie Janicak
SHIRLEY MARIE JANICAK JANUARY 18, 1937 – MARCH 10, 2023 Shirley Marie Janicak, 86, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital in Sandy Springs, Georgia. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Janicak (United States Marine Corps); daughter of the late Sanford Lott and Sylvia Ashcraft Lott; sister of the late Charles Lott and Frances Savina Walls; granddaughter of the late Maude Ashcraft who raised her; stepsister of the late Polly Wilson, Sonny Lott, and Joseph Lott; and aunt of the late Janet Nutter. Shirley is survived by her only son Thaddeus J. Janicak; her granddaughter Ashley J. Ramsey and her husband Kyle Ramsey; and her two great-grandchildren Bailey and Jaxson Ramsey. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Carol Lott; brother-in-law Bob Walls; step sisters Roselee Wilmoth, Linda Cane, Annabelle Martin, Kimberly Lott, and Brenda Lott Kincaid; step brother Billy Lott; close niece Paula Elder, and many other nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog and companion, Miss Lilly. Shirley was born on January 18, 1937, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, where she met her love and married Edward on July 4, 1959. Edward, Shirley, and Thaddeus planted roots in Woodstock, Georgia in 1983. Shirley was a woman of faith and a member of Faith Family Church in Acworth, Georgia, where she received a certificate on September 17, 1995 for completing all of the requirements of the Faith Bible Institute School of Ministry "Leadership and Ministry" training program. Shirley will be remembered as a class act, beautiful, conservative, independent woman, with a love for shopping and her many dog companions through the years. In her final years, Shirley gained precious memories with her sweet great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
