Mr. Stanley G. Ambrose

Born on July 20, 1958, in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Margaret Alberta Ambrose and Tony Ambrose.

Stan is survived by his beloved wife, Rebecca Carros Ambrose; his daughters, McKenna, Mallory, and Macy Ambrose; and his siblings Robert (Karen) Ambrose; Antonette (Press) Gray; and Anthony (Leslie) Ambrose.

Stan's career included work as an athletic trainer, medical sales representative, and financial advisor with Morgan Stanley. He was respected professionally, but those who knew him best will remember him most for his devotion to his family.

A proud and loving father, Stan never missed an opportunity to support his daughters. He coached their basketball teams, embraced every adventure of raising three girls – including happily sporting painted fingernails and elaborately styled hair – and filled their lives with laughter, encouragement, and unconditional love.

An excellent cook who loved to grill, Stan also enjoyed golf, watching the History Channel, following current events, and listening to all kinds of music, often making up his own lyrics for the entertainment of family and friends. A lifelong sports fan, he proudly rooted for both the Georgia Bulldogs and his hometown West Virginia Mountaineers.

Stan will be remembered for his quick wit, generous heart, and the love he shared so freely with his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the countless memories he created and in the lives of those who loved him.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 10 a.m. at Honey Creek Woodlands in Conyers. Following the graveside service, all who knew and loved Stan are invited to join the family for a drop-in Celebration of Life at the Rivergreen Heritage Clubhouse, 201 Clubhouse Dr. in Canton from 3-6 p.m. to share stories, memories, and fellowship as we honor a life well-lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Stan’s memory to the American Heart Association.
