Thelma Lee Hines
February 3, 1948 – February 19, 2021
Thelma Lee Arnold-Hines was born on February 3, 1948 to the late Lee Guster and Annie Mae Arnold in Bashi, Alabama. She attended Pine Apple High School in Pine Apple, Alabama. Thelma was introduced to Christ by her parents at an early age.
Thelma met and married the late Albert Hines, Sr. (a Military man) on July 23, 1965 in Pine Apple, Alabama. After Albert’s tour of duty in Vietnam, he returned and moved his family to Columbus, Georgia. To this union they were blessed with four children.
Thelma was a very devout Christian. After accepting her call to the ministry, she always took advantage of the opportunity to witness to others about the goodness of the Lord. She taught and preached in many churches in Columbus, Georgia. When someone needed prayer, you could always call on her to go before the Lord in prayer for healing and deliverance. She spent countless hours reading and studying her Bible so that she would be equipped to minister God’s Word.
She had a passion for writing. She wrote and published a book entitled; “Poems, Songs, and Wisdom from Jesus”.

First Baptist Church

My Dear Christian friends, we have the promise of God that death, which men most fear, shall be to us the most blessed of experiences dependent only upon our perfect trust in and love for Him.
It was decreed in the beginning, “All must die” but we shall rise from death to everlasting life if we are faithful unto death, in the cause of Christ. God has always kept his promises and if His followers will lean upon Him, He will guide them all the way. He also promised in His Great Book, “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”
WHEREAS, God in His Great Power has removed from our midst Sister Thelma Arnold Hines. who was the sister of Deacon Prince and Moses Arnold. who are loyal and dedicated and faithful member of this church.
WHEREAS, First Baptist Church, Pine Apple, Alabama is where Sister Hines first confessed her belief in Jesus Christ as her Savior.
WHEREAS she ended life’s earthly journey and made the step through death into eternity from “no more” into “forever” from “maybe to definitely”, from “hope to Victory”, all in the Lord.
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that though her presence will be greatly missed by her family and friends, we pray that they accept with Christian submission to God’s will. To you, her devoted Family, and friends, we extend our heartfelt sympathy and commend you to the Divine Comforter who can sustain, encourage, and strengthen all who call upon Him.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that you ever cherish her memory and look forward with joy to meeting her in the home that was being prepared for her in Glory Land.
Prayerfully and Lovingly Submitted,
The First Baptist Church Family., Pine Apple, Alabama

When she attended Pentecostals of McDonough. She was so friendly and kind. She ways bubbly and rejoiced in her salvation. She truly loved people and was happy to see others rejoice with her. I always admired her hats and her love for the Lord. She will be missed.

I will always remember Thanksgiving at Thelma's house. You could always count on dressing, macaroni and cheese, along with turkey. She always teased me about eating only the breast. We spent time discussing our kids, and eventually our granddaughter Ava. Rest in Peace Always. Jennifer Gardner

Sis. Thelma was my buddy, my best friend!
We traveled up and down the road to the stores, Walmart and anywhere that she needed to go. One of our favorite places to go to was the Subway! Everywhere that we would go, she would tell people, this is Sis. Darlene...she is my best friend! She was very Special to me! I will miss her dearly! RIP my dear best friend!
