

Thomas Patrick Higgins, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on February 13, 2025, in Marietta, Georgia, at the age of 79. Born on January 4, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York, Thomas lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and cherished moments.
Thomas is greatly remembered for his unique, dry humor that brightened the lives of all who knew him. His plentiful dad jokes brought smiles and laughter, especially to his devoted wife, Kathy, with whom he shared over 30 wonderful years. Together they exemplified love, dancing through life’s ups and downs hand in hand, each moment filled with shared joy and companionship.
A proud veteran, Thomas served his country in Vietnam with honor, instilling in his family a deep respect for service and sacrifice. He was a devoted father, leaving behind a legacy through his children: Kim Curran, Kelly Malarski, Daniel Higgins, and Mark Higgins. As well as his beloved grandchildren, Sarafina, Karlee, Luke, Sullivan, Jack, and Jill, who carry forth his playful spirit and zest for life. Thomas was preceded in death by his sister Mary and brother Michael.
Thomas had a love for the simple pleasures in life. His fondness for coffee shops, particularly Dunkin' Donuts, was well-known, as was his enjoyment of driving, always taking the scenic route. He relished playing card games and bingo, often gathering with family and friends to make lasting memories over these beloved games.
A visitation will be held on February 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Woodstock, GA, followed by a prayer vigil that will begin at 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 8:00 AM at Transfiguration Catholic Church. Thomas will be laid to rest on February 21, 2025, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA, starting at 10:30 AM.
Thomas Patrick Higgins lived a life that touched many. He will be remembered not just for the length of his life, but the depth of his love—a heart that remains firmly etched in the memories he created with his family and friends.
