I remember Wendell as a red haired, freckled-faced little boy. My sister Julie and I are sitting in my grandmother Aaron's front room and Wendell is playing the guitar while we sing.

I remember Wendell as a teenager shooting fire crackers in grandmother's front yard with Julie and me.

I remember Wendell when he first met Lena and Julie and I realized he was a kind and gentle man.

This is how I choose to remember you, Wendell. When we were all young and oh so innocent.

See you on the other side.

My deepest condolences to the family. I met Wendell and Lena back in the 90's when I first moved to Georgia. My mom, Aunt Shelia, and Lena worked together at AMF before I started working there myself. Wendell and Lena spent time with our family and were like grandparents to my son Bradly. When Lena passed I would visit, call, and send letters to Wendell to check in on him. He was so excited last year when I told him Bradly was getting married. I'm sad that I didn't have the opportunity to tell him Bradly will be a father soon.
