

William “Bill” Robert Morningstar III, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Kennestone Hospital. He is now at rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bill was eighty-eight years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Poole Funeral Home Chapel, with Revs. Shannon Salyer, Buddy Husley, and James Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens with full military honors. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00–7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Poole Funeral Home in Woodstock.
Bill was born on May 31, 1937, in Miami, Florida, to the late William Robert II and Eleanor Stamper Morningstar. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 24 years, achieving the highest enlisted rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant (E-9) before retiring. Bill was also a devoted member of First Baptist Church Woodstock, where his faith was central to his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved grandson, Jonathan Morningstar.
Bill dearly loved his family, who were the joy of his life. He is survived by his wife, Mary “Fran” DeLoach Morningstar; two daughters, Sharon Denise Williams (Paul Edward, Jr.) and Carol A. Eubanks (James); and three sons, William “Bob” R. Morningstar IV, Stephen S. Morningstar (Cindy Ivey), and Keith Allan Morningstar (Alisa). Bill’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren affectionately called him “Pap Pap,” a name that brought him great pride and happiness.
He leaves behind seven grandchildren: Jared Eubanks, Mary Beth Saputo, David Morningstar, Andrew Eubanks, Aaron Morningstar, Michael Eubanks, and Katie Hilgendorf; and ten great-grandchildren: O’Neil Morningstar, Aria Morningstar, Cohen Eubanks, Zariah Morningstar, Elias Morningstar, Emma Hilgendorf, Joaquin Saputo, Jordan Morningstar, Hannah Hilgendorf, and Gianni Saputo.
Bill’s legacy of faith, service, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
