

Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Debbie Gregory; his sister, Mary Patricia Ackerman (James); stepdaughter Dawn Michelle Murray (Mike) and grandchildren Michael, Matthew, and Gracie. His nieces and nephews, Greg Ackerman (Lisa), Jennifer Ackerman (Ronald), Abigail Ackerman and Patrick Ackerman also survive. In addition, he leaves behind many cherished friends.
A man of strong faith, Bill attended of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock, Georgia. He graduated from Liberty High School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with the Class of 1964. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western New England College in June 1969 and later obtained a master’s degree in marketing. Bill also proudly served his country and was honorably discharged after six years in the United States Army Reserves.
Bill had a remarkable gift for making and keeping friends. Those who knew him often said that once you became Bill's friend, you were a friend for life. He genuinely enjoyed learning about others and hearing their stories.
Golf was one of Bill's lifelong passions. He began playing at a young age alongside his father, creating memories that remained dear to him throughout his life. For 26 years, Bill was a member of Eagle Watch Golf Club, where he enjoyed countless rounds with friends who became like family. Whether on the golf course or gathered afterward, Bill was known as a master storyteller, always ready with a tale that could entertain, inspire, or bring laughter to those around him.
Bill loved doo-wop music and oldies and could often be heard singing along.
After graduating from college, Bill worked for 30 years at Sweet Life Foods in Suffield, Connecticut, and Northborough, Massachusetts, serving in various roles, including Sales Representative, Buyer, and Director. He then spent the next 25 years working in grocery store sales, covering the Southeastern United States. Most recently, Bill represented Non Foods Marketing in Westbury, New York.
For the past ten years, Bill worked as an Uber driver, a role he thoroughly enjoyed because it allowed him to connect with people from all walks of life. He treasured the conversations he shared and the stories he heard from his passengers.
Above all else, Bill was a devoted husband. He and Debbie shared a deep and enduring love. Bill often said, "If you kiss the one you love at midnight on New Year's Eve, you'll be together forever." Even if Debbie happened to doze off before midnight, Bill would gently wake her so they could share their New Year's kiss. They honored this tradition faithfully for 23 years, a reflection of the love and devotion they shared.
Bill will be remembered as an amazing husband, loyal friend, devoted golfer, gifted storyteller, and faithful man whose warmth, humor, and kindness touched countless lives. His memory will be treasured forever by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held at Woodstock Funeral Home, Inc., 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188, US, on June 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location on June 27, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
