

Willie Dean Smith Corbin, age 83, of Woodstock, Georgia passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on April 9, 2025.
Willie was born in Gadsden, Alabama on June 21, 1941, to Clara Sweatt Smith and Austin Smith. She graduated from Emma Sansom High School and attended trade school. After relocating to Atlanta, Willie worked for Gulf Oil Company and Life of Georgia prior to becoming a wife and mother. After raising her children, Willie enjoyed being an Executive Assistant with Purina Mills.
Wille married the love of her life, Lowell Thomas “Tom” Corbin, Sr. in 1965. Early in their marriage they lived in Decatur, Georgia, and relocated to Woodstock, Georgia after having children. They joined First Baptist Church of Woodstock in 1986 and were active members for many years.
Willie dedicated her life to raising her children. She enjoyed volunteering as Room Mom when they were in elementary school, and she supported her children in numerous extracurricular activities throughout their childhood. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Fox Theater, the Tellus Museum, on a mission trip to Romania and for the Election Polls. She loved traveling, spending time with friends, dancing, music and laughter. One of Willie’s many gifts was her servant’s heart. She loved giving to and taking care of others. Willie’s greatest joy was becoming a grandmother to her wonderful grandchildren.
Willie was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Ruby Smith and Gaynell Clement and her brothers Bill Smith, Wayne Smith and Richard Smith.
Survivors include her husband Tom Corbin, Woodstock, GA; son Lowell Corbin (Bree), White, GA; daughter Christy Corbin Windham (J.W.), Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren Emma Claire, Jaxson and Seth Corbin, White, GA and Samantha Lanford (Patrick), Summerville, SC. Willie is also survived by many adored nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at two o’clock on April 13, 2025, at Poole’s Funeral Home in Woodstock, GA with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Burial will occur on April 16, 2025, at two o’clock at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Visitation will precede the service from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. The family invites you to join them for a reception after the service.
