With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Youlanda Ficzko, lovingly known to all as Yo, on July 12, 2026, she went to be with her Lord and husband. She had just turned 80 and celebrated her birthday with her children at Hilton Head Island, which she loved and was the happiest she had been in years….

She is survived by her daughter, Sallie Ficzko, and her son, Stacey Ficzko.

She was born and raised in Decatur, Alabama. After high school, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended and graduated from Bauder College. She later met and married the love of her life, and together they had two children, whom she raised in a loving, Christian home. She enjoyed a fulfilling career in residential and commercial real estate, as well as property management.

Yo was a devoted wife and a nurturing, loving mother whose memory will be cherished forever. She never waivered from her faith knowing that God was still writing her story.

God’s timing can be difficult to understand, but we continue to believe and trust in His plan.

How do we say goodbye to you, Mom? You brought warmth to our darkest days and guided us through life’s winding paths. You taught us kindness, compassion, generosity, and love. Through those lessons, the best of you will live on in us forever. Your life was a blessing, filled with love, grace, and kindness, and your memory will always be embraced. You always put others before yourself, and that selflessness is what made you such a wonderful wife, mother and friend.

Oh, how you loved the holidays. Christmas and Easter were always your brightest seasons. Your home was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees in every room, whether you were hosting a gingerbread house contest or an Easter egg hunt, your joyful smile lit up the room as you watched everyone play and enjoy the festivities. We will miss the holiday aromas of pound cake, your famous cheesecake, and homemade pierogies made late into the night, while Dad tasted more than his share to make sure they were just right.

We will always cherish your love, your giving spirit, and the joy you shared with family and friends who loved you. You never gave up a chance to say “Roll Tide” when you saw the opponent walking toward you. So, to you mom “Roll Tide”……

We know how deeply you missed Ron these past two years. Now reunited with the love of your life, we take comfort in knowing you are at peace and in God’s hands and Ron’s arms.

We would give anything for one more day with you—to say we love you once more, or to share another family trip to Hilton Head, playing together in the sand and water. Those moments with you are among our most treasured memories.

A funeral service will be held at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, Georgia, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 10:00 am.

Visitation will be held at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Youlanda will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 1:30 PM.
