Born on November 20, 1951, in Flint, Michigan, to Joseph and Stella Stansbury, Zelina married Robert E. Worden in 1968, and they shared 25 years of marriage. She was known for her strong work ethic and love for animals. Her career began at Salley’s Meats and continued with General Motors and Pontiac Motors in Michigan. After retirement, she remained active at Walmart and Goodwill in the greater Atlanta area. She will be remembered as a hardworking, strong-willed woman who cherished her family and her animals.
She is lovingly remembered by her former husband; her daughter, Marie (Curt) Gann, her son, Rob (Shelley) Worden; her grandsons, Cristian, Trey, (fiancée Ada Jewell), and Robert; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Juniper, Kyrie, and Mila. Her family was the center of her life, and she took great pride in watching it grow through each generation.
Zelina was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Joseph and Stella Stansbury; her brother, Peter Simon; her beloved granddaughter, Ashley Harris; and her cherished aunts, Mary Irwin and Beatrice Hickey.
In honor of Zelina’s compassion and love for animals, the family kindly requests that memorial donations in lieu of flowers be made to your local Humane Society.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
Zelina will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who loved her.
