Heaven gained the most beautiful angel on September 20, when Annabelle passed from her 94 years on Earth, surrounded by her loving family. Born Annabelle Cline on May 1, 1929 in Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia. She always shared fond memories of life there, especially going to churches and singing after her Father would lead the sermon. Annabelle enjoyed school, attending through the eighth grade. She married Leo Meaige at the age of 15, and started a family at 16 years old. They moved around, settling in Columbus, Ohio where the family grew to six children. She would then start her career at the Kroger Bakery, where she was a line lead until she retired after 28 years. After retirement, Annabelle enjoyed trips to Florida and Las Vegas, bowling, sewing numerous quilts for every family member, attending to her pristine yard, and cooking family favorites such as potato soup, macaroni salad, and peanut butter fudge.
Annabelle was funny, kind, had a sweet disposition, and ALWAYS had something nice to say to everyone…from family to neighbors to nurses to strangers. She made the holidays memorable by hosting Christmas Eve for family and friends for over sixty years.
Left to mourn her presence are her children: Lois Van Dyke, Cathy Meaige, Bill (Tami) Meaige, Tom (Juanita) Meaige and son-in-law Jack Ross. Annabelle leaves 46 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren, siblings Betty Wiseman, Rick (Alice) Cline, and Margaret Cline, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
