

Betty Lou Shultz, 89, died peacefully January 5, 2022 at her residence in Tampa, Florida surrounded by her family. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 30 years Dr. John Shultz; parents Frank and Edna (Wilson) Towler; sister Phoebe Joanne Hughes; and brother Roger Towler. She was born in Urbana, Ohio on March 22, 1932.
Betty worked at Citizens National Bank in Urbana; West Liberty Salem Middle School; and was a homemaker for many years. She enjoyed singing, dancing, gardening, playing tennis, golf, bridge, backgammon, and spending time with her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Pam Lindsey and Julie Beth (Toby) Haun; stepsons, John Michael (Kim) Shultz, Brooks Alan (Mary Beth), Shultz, and Phillip Toben Shultz. Grandchildren include Brooke (Jerry) LeCornu, Shane (Keaton) Lindsey children of Pam Lindsey; Matthew and Megan Haun children of Julie (Toby) Haun; John Alan Shultz, Kristin (Andrew) Hilliard, and Kaitlyn Shultz children of John (Kim) Shultz; Cassady and Caroline Shultz, children of Brooks (Mary Beth) Shultz. Great-Grandchildren Brody and Adyson, children of Brooke (Jerry) LeCornu; Addison Faust child of Shane (Keaton) Lindsey; Blake child of Cassady Shultz; Sisters Linda (Tom) Good and Marianne Towler; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085 at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 14th followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Kingscreek Cemetery, 1250 Kennard-Kingscreek Rd. Urbana, OH. 43078.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
