Catherine Laura (Roberts) Polsdorfer, age 83, of Powell Ohio, was welcomed home to Heaven on April 29, 2023 after suffering from a stroke one month earlier. She was preceded in death by her husband Rolan David and their infant daughter Jeanne Amber as well as her parents Ellis and Helen Roberts, and brother David Roberts. Catherine was born in Toledo, Ohio November 6, 1939 and graduated from DeVilbiss High School where she met and later married her high school sweetheart. Catherine and David were married 43 years. Early on, she worked as a bank teller and switchboard operator before staying home to raise their three children, Wesley, Shelley and Deborah. In addition to being a full-time mother, she taught preschool for over 20 years and is often remembered for her storytelling and ability to sing a song or recite a poem for any occasion. Catherine and David accepted Christ as their personal Savior and became active members of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Toledo, Ohio. In addition to serving and singing in the choir, Catherine loved to travel with David, collect antiques, and used her green thumb to create beautiful garden spaces around the home. Later in life, she and David became LGB model train enthusiasts. They were members of the Columbus Garden Railroad Society, designing and building beautiful train layouts both inside their home and in their gardens outside. Their elaborate and beautiful designs delighted people of all ages, especially the grandchildren. Catherine loved her family well and is survived by her three children, Wesley and his wife Dawn, their four children and nine grandchildren; Shelley and her husband Randell Gillespie, their nine children and four grandchildren; Deborah and her husband Michael Koenig, their two children and two grandchildren; as well as her sister Myrna Ritterling and brother Nelson Roberts. Visitation will be held at the Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St Worthington, Ohio, Tuesday May 9 from 10:00-12:00 with a funeral service to follow. Interment service will be held at Dublin Cemetery immediately following the funeral.
