Donald is survived by his brother Peter Huiner and sister Janice Venema. His parents Bernard and Edith Huiner, his siblings Harvey Huiner and Anne VanderZiel have predeceased Donald, as well as his wife Eileen and daughters Jennifer Leslie and Erika Janelle.
Don was an active member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church and volunteer at Hospice for many years.
A celebration of life will be conducted at Schoedinger Funeral Home on January 25 at 11 am.
The family is beyond grateful for the excellent care of Danbury Senior Home and to Jim and Ann McElligott whose faithful, loving care and attendance to Don was amazing in his last years.
