Donald Eugene Wilson

Donald E. Wilson left his earthly life on Friday, June 13th, 2025. He was born on March 25, 1932 to Edna and Cloe Wilson in Rosemont, Ohio. Don graduated in 1950 from Jackson Milton High School, where he participated in the marching band, football and drama club. He furthered his education through classes at Walsh College. Don served in the US Army as a Sergeant and worked as a photo interpreter. After his military service, he worked for Beneficial Finance as an office manager, the Ohio Central Credit Union, the Doctor’s offices of Drs. Wright, Goff, Krantz, Stockwell, Harmon and Jones, and Dan Tobin, GMC. With his wife Mary Lou, he also ran a small ceramics business (D&L Ceramics) out of his home. He was a Past Master of Masonic Sulgrave Lodge #696, a past member of the Worthington Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Scottish Rite, the Grand Cross of Color – Rainbow, and the Worthington United Methodist Church.

Don enjoyed many hobbies and activities, including rooting for the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians/Guardians, Ohio State football and basketball teams, playing cards, woodworking, and ceramics. He was true handyman and somehow knew how to fix anything. He was always the first one to volunteer to help out, “get the job done” and solve the problem at hand. While his children were growing up, Don was also a little league coach. He was known for his love of ice cream, popcorn and home made peanut brittle and was always looking for “a stack of $20s”. He also loved to travel and was able to visit and photograph all 50 U.S. state capitols.

Don was preceded in death by his spouse, Mary Lou (Scott) 1956-2005, and siblings Donna Jean and Charles. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Humphreys) 2006, children Leigh Ann (Jan), Jeff (Barb), and Lisa (Dave), grandchildren Megan, Emily, Ben, Noah, Brianna and Erin, and great-grandchildren, Nolan and Margaret, as well as siblings Phyllis and Dorothy Ann and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Worthington, on Saturday, June 28 from 9:30 to 11:30, with interment at Kingwood Memorial Park, following a brief service and military recognition. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions can be made to ECHO Hospice, Riverside Methodist Hospital or Sunrise of Dublin.
