Dorothy was known for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh and dynamic personality that would light up a room.
Whenever you left her home, you had a full stomach from her cooking and joyful heart from her presence. She will be remembered as a loving matriarch who was dedicated to loving and supporting her family and friends. Even greater than her love for her family and friends, was her love for our heavenly Father, Jehovah. Dorothy had an unwavering commitment to doing Jehovah’s will and spreading his Word for over 50 years. Even in her final days, hours and minutes she never stopped doing Jehovah’s will.
Whether you called her Mommie, Maw Maw, Dot, Dorothy, Sister, Aunt Dorothy or dear friend, she was everything to everybody. Her family was her life, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Simply stated, Dorothy was generous and big-hearted.
There was never a dull moment with Dorothy! She was known among her family for her antics…from stuffing her nephew Kenny in the dryer, throwing her younger brother Richie down the steps, even to knocking her baby sister Pie unconscious! Dorothy was also known for her “paper plate” notes as her gentle reminders for chores and “honey do” lists.
Dorothy was especially known for opening her home and her heart. She never met a stranger. Whether she was making southern comfort food such as her famous delicious macaroni and cheese, delectable greens or her elegant wedding cakes, Dorothy knew how to “throw down” in the kitchen!
