Earl Theodore Yeager

Born on February 27, 1938, in Erie, Pennsylvania, Earl was the son of Emeric Yeager and Elizabeth Czernecki Yeager. He was Graduate of Penn State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, followed by an MBA. His education reflected both his analytical mind and his natural ability to understand how things worked—qualities that would remain a defining part of who he was throughout his life.

Working in local Garages early on gave Earl a lifelong love of working on cars. He loved figuring out how things worked, getting his hands dirty, and solving problems.

Earl went on to build a successful career in international business development that allowed him to travel extensively. He was immensely proud of his travels and loved sharing the stories and memories he collected along the way, which eventually led to becoming an author.

One of Earl’s most memorable—and most often told stories was when he underwent an experimental surgical procedure in New York City due to a gunshot wound from a hunting accident when he was 12 years old. This surgery was groundbreaking at the time and went on to become a procedure still used today. It was a remarkable chapter in his life and a story he was never tired of sharing.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Emeric Yeager and Elizabeth Czernecki Yeager; his sister, Mary Anne LaFlamme; and his brothers, Emery Yeager, Eddie “Butch” Yeager, and Ernest (Ernie) Yeager.

Earl was married to the love of his life, Stephanie, nearly for 61 years. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, faith, laughter, and love. Their enduring partnership was one of the greatest joys of his life.

Earl was a beloved presence in the stands at his older grandchildren’s activities. He was often easy to spot wearing his unmistakable orange baseball cap, proudly cheering for not only his grandchildren but their teammates as well. He never missed an opportunity to show his support. He also held dear his travels to California to spend meaningful time with his younger grandchildren.

Earl will be remembered for his infectious smile, enthusiasm, and laughing so hard till he cried. He approached life with curiosity, determination, optimism, and genuine excitement.

Earl, being a longtime member of St. Paul Church, found comfort and community in his faith.

Earl leaves behind his beloved wife, Stephanie; his children, Liz Caruso and her husband Ron, and Ted and his wife, Amy; his grandchildren, Sophia, Gabe, Giulian, Lily, and Ella; his sister Irene Davino and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, his golden retriever Sammy, and friends who were blessed to know him.

His legacy lives on in the people he loved, the lessons he taught, the laughter he shared and the countless memories he created.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
