

Evelyn “Faye” Miles, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home in Westerville, Ohio on October 24, 2025. She was born in Scenery Hill, Pennsylvania (PA) to the late Asa and Beulah Bolyard, at home. Her baby bed was a “dresser drawer” and all her baby clothing was sown, handmade, by her beloved mother, Beulah.
She graduated in 1956 from Ellsworth High School in Ellsworth, PA. From there, Faye went on and graduated from Penn Commercial Business College in Washington, PA, Class of 1958. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Beallsville, PA and most recently a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Westerville, OH.
She married Nelson E. Miles of Amity, PA, on March 3, 1962. They moved to Columbus, OH in 1963 where they raised their two daughters, Jodi Colleen (1965) and Marcia Ann (1968).
Faye had a successful career as an Executive Assistant to top Executives in the Central Ohio region. Throughout her career, she consistently excelled in her roles, with two positions standing out as her favorites and most significant. The first was serving two Chiefs of Medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. The second was her 18-year tenure as the Vice President of Corporate Engineering at Worthington Industries, from which she retired in 2004.
Her favorite role in life was that of – wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She found great joy in spending time with family, no matter the situation or event. She took great joy in caring for and spending time with her two grandsons – Jacob and Brady Harris. Her profound faith in God guided her throughout her life. She had a profound sense of Patriotism that guided her to fight for our Freedoms and God given rights. She was a winner of the American Legion’s “Freedom of Speech” essay competition in High School and was very proud of her ancestry dating back to the Revolutionary Way in Pennsylvania.
Faye is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Nelson E. Miles, daughter and son-in-law Jodi and Tom Harris, daughter Marcia Miles, grandson and wife Jacob and Lindsay Harris, grandson Brady Harris, great grandsons Luke Thomas Harris and Cooper James Harris. Also, beloved family including sister-in-law Marjorie Day (Jerry), sister-in-law Alice May Hatfield, brother-in-law Frank Miles, and nieces and nephews in PA and OH.
Family will welcome friends on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. A Memorial Service will be held the following day on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home (Schoedinger) with procession following to KINGWOOD MEMORIAL PARK, 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH 43035.
