Frederick Allan Buck

Frederick Allan Buck, 60, of Westerville, Ohio passed away on July 12, 2026. Born May 11, 1966, in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania. Fred was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, goofiness, humility, curiosity, and a quiet strength.

Fred earned a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He built a distinguished career as a research engineer at Dow Chemical Company, a research scientist at Kimberly-Clark, a Senior Engineer at Owens Corning, and most recently served as a Senior Engineer at Abbott.

Family was Fred’s greatest joy. He is survived by his loving wife, Susie; his children, Nick (Allie), Jack (Olivia), Alek (Maureen), Zack (Lauren), and Lukas (Grace); his grandchildren, Josie, Ruthie, Margo, Johnny, Wesley, Oliver, and Annie; and his siblings, Brandon Buck (Michelle) and Amanda Andrzejewski (Rob). He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Sandra Buck.

Fred was kind, gentle, quiet, loving, and selfless—someone who used his intelligence not to elevate himself, but to help others. He was a father who was always present—driving to practices, attending games, and cheering with quiet pride. Teaching that worth comes from who you are, not how you performed. He delighted in his family and found joy in creating traditions that will be cherished for generations. Whether attending Indians and Browns games with his five sons, spending everyday moments to grand adventures with Susie, treating his seven grandchildren to ice cream, or savoring an amber ale, he embraced life's simple pleasures and the people he loved most. He met illness and hardship with quiet resolve and steadfast faith in Jesus. As a colon cancer survivor, his courage in the face of life's challenges reflected his character and will forever inspire his family. He supported loved ones with unwavering presence by offering comfort and encouragement. His love for his grandchildren—those he knew and those yet to come—will leave a lasting impression. He will be remembered as a beloved, involved, and fun "Papa", “Puppa” and "Popster."

Fred’s faith and love for his family were intertwined. He prepared his children to be kind and thoughtful, stood by them through every milestone, and pointed them toward hope and goodness through his example. Those who knew him well recall his generosity, his humor, his willingness to listen, and the way he made everyone feel seen and valued. His legacy will endure through the countless family members and friends whose lives were touched by him.
